Shaping Community Business in Suffolk
A new partnership will help and support communities in Suffolk to set up businesses that can address local needs.
The programme aims to help more community businesses to start trading and increase awareness of the way the sector can address social and economic challenges in the county.
MENTA, are the lead organisation in the partnership. Working with Community Action Suffolk (CAS), this project has been commissioned by Power to Change and Suffolk County Council to develop a plan to support and strengthen the growth of new and existing community businesses in Suffolk.
John Neild, Enterprise and Contracts Manager at MENTA said, “I am delighted that we are leading this community business support programme across Suffolk, and look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship with CAS. We are well positioned locally, regionally and nationally to deliver the Supporting Community Businesses in Suffolk project, and we aim to support communities on their journey to come together and find innovative, sustainable ways of improving the areas in which they live”.
The events will be held on;
Monday 20th January 2020 at 12:00-2:00pm @ Wickham Market Village Hall, IP13 0HE
Tuesday 21st January 2020 at 12:00-2:00pm @ Moreton Hall Community Centre, IP32 7EW
Wednesday 22nd January 2020 at 12:00-2:00pm @ The Mix, IP14 1BB
Thursday 23rd January 2020 at 12:00-2:00pm @ Mendham & Withersdale Village Hall, IP20 0JF
These events will provide an excellent platform for communities to embrace their skills and opportunities, gaining access to help and advice with their community-based business ideas.
The plan is to provide a range of specialist support from our region to offer these budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to gain the confidence, information and knowledge required to start their new business within the local community.
