Your Business Lockdown News on the Radar

Journalists need your lockdown release news….make use of ‘Media Requests’

The one time journalists really needs you is when they are writing their articles. And as we exit lockdown there is no better time to get on their radar to profile your business in the media.

Here are the four top tips from our PR partners JournoLink to make the most of the opportunity by responding to Media Requests.

· Make sure you are first in line to receive requests. Journalists will use online services and social channels to ask for business comments. Use one of the intelligent platforms that do the searching for you and prompt you when a request has been made.

· Respond promptly. Even though journalists might quote a cut off times, frequently they will take the first one or two business case studies they find and use them for their articles. Don’t wait until the last minute…get in there first.

· Make your email response succinct. What request you are responding to, why you believe you are the perfect business for the request and attach a good image. No more that 150 words in all.

· Leave contact details and take the call there and then when it comes. If you aren’t available the journalist will move to the next reply on the list.

There is never any guarantee that the journalist will contact you or use your business, but it takes just two minutes to get on their radar, and the more you feature, the more likely it is that you will find yourself with a media profile.

MENTA PR can help you manage your Media Requests through our partnership with JournoLink.
