For over two years ambitious businesses have had the opportunity to tap into the knowledge and
experience of successful business people at no cost under the Expert Connections programme.
MENTA and the Suffolk Institute of Directors have been working to match members of the IoD
who wish to share their expertise with growing and expanding companies in the county who?
acknowledge they’re lacking in a certain area of business acumen.
Gregg Cooper of Ipswich based Beer&Co said “MENTA has provided essential support to Beer&Co
and the Expert Connections programme is an example of this. We have benefited from the advice
and support of Barry Chevallier Guild of Aspall, who is an experienced mentor within the industry.
He has enabled us to move the business forward with confidence and I’m extremely grateful to
Mr Chevallier Guild commented, “It was a pleasure working with Gregg and going through his plans
and aspirations for his business. At an early stage in the development of his company I was only too
happy to lend my support and offer my advice. I look forward to seeing how the business prospers
and further adds to Suffolk’s reputation for quality food and drink.”
Alex Till CEO of MENTA who worked with Suffolk IoD to bring this support to fruition said, “It’s great
to know this free service is making a difference to local businesses. Any well-established Suffolk
based company can access the Expert Connections service by completing a simple application form
online, available on the MENTA website.
We then introduce the Suffolk IoD member who has the required skill set and they arrange to meet
up. The rest is down to them. The feedback we receive from both parties is extremely encouraging
and we intend continuing with this free matching service.”
