Free business skills workshops and support for people thinking of starting a business, or who are in the process of setting one up or who happen to be 'test trading'.
Free business skills courses are being run by Menta, the Suffolk enterprise agency in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds supporting people considering starting a business in 2017.
Gary Parker, a trainer and business adviser for Menta commented, “Our free, ‘Best Start’ workshops cover key topics including, business planning, marketing and book keeping and after completing the initial 12 hours of support further free advice and masterclasses are available to delegates.
I’ve been surprised by the number of people who’ve already taken up these options with us and we’re looking forward to working with other new start-up businesses during 2017.”
Feedback from the workshops has been extremely positive, Phil Morley, of Phil Morley Photography said, “It’s been a very worthwhile series of courses which has given my business a great start. I was utterly terrified of book keeping, but now feel confident to tackle my tax return!”
The business courses are held in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich and are available on a first come, first served basis. Menta has been able to add this additional, bespoke support to its suite of business services due to specific funding from the European Regional Development Fund with the longer term aim of providing more employment opportunities and prosperity to the Eastern Region.
