Enterprising Communiyies Case Study VI
Claire “Nails” a business idea – Pinky Treats!
Claire Campbell (42) a busy mum with four children had spent years working for other people in beauty salons but felt that there was a better service that she could offer to ladies like herself.
“Working women and busy mums want access to treats at a time and place that is easy and convenient for them” she says and with the help of MENTA “Pinky Treats” was launched. Everyone knows that manicured nails give the owner a feeling that they are well groomed and feminine and nails rarely get as much attention as other parts of the body. Claire recognised that grooming was an essential part of a woman’s beauty regime and a service needed to be offered at a time and place that gave ladies the opportunity to take time for a little pampering.
Taking the plunge was rather daunting at first but with the help of the Enterprise Coaches from MENTA Claire was ready to be her own boss. Without the support of Chrissy and Leanne, Claire would have found it hard to know where to go and what the next steps to take would be.
Claire commented that “everyone in MENTA have been so helpful to me since I came up with the idea of Pinky Treats. It is them that really inspired me”. The MENTA service is just brilliant and the people who work there are fantastic”
Pinky Treats operates from Claire’s home as she recognised that her clients wanted ease of parking, and evening appointments when they would be undisturbed by their families and when they could enjoy a well earned manicure and/or pedicure. Not all salons can offer the treatment times that busy ladies want and Claire knew this would be essential if her new business was to be a success.
Everyone enjoys a little TLC and these treatments are an affordable indulgence that can be enjoyed by all, whether it’s a weekly colour or a treat for a special occasion, Claire aims to offer a professional service that will get you noticed.
